ADA Gap is a free tool that shows what makes a website hard to use for people with disabilities. It is made for small business owners, local government staff and anyone else who looks after a website, not just technical experts.

Most accessibility tools speak in codes and jargon. ADA Gap explains each problem in everyday words, shows you where it is, and tells you how to fix it, so you can pass the list to whoever builds your site.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) protects people with disabilities from being shut out. In 2024 the U.S. Department of Justice adopted the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, as the technical standard for state and local government websites and apps. ADA Gap checks against that same standard.
